Mass Destruction...
Well...laptop number three out of four has endured mass destruction and has been rebuilt. The part came in today and I spend a good hour and a half to two hours tearing it down and putting it back together. I'm starting to become skilled in organizing small screws and the various parts I may have to remove. Luckily the laptops have been spread out enough that I can work on one while I'm waiting on the part for the next laptop. I have also discovered that some laptops are a lot easier to work on than others...right now the HP and Toshiba models are ranking higher than the Compaq and Dell models that I've had lately.
It didn't take me long to figure out that having a small fishing tackle box comes in very handy when I'm tearing into a laptop. I had to go out and purchase a second box since I already had one in use for another laptop work-in-progress...
I decided when I finished up a laptop for a lady at work, that I would come up with a clever way of telling her it was done. So, I tagged her in a post on Facebook that said "I have one up on all the King's horses and all the King's men...I WAS able to put Humpty Dumpty (aka Cindy A******* P******'s laptop) back together again!" I have to admit that I felt witty and smart after that one! Now just how am I going to break it to Chris and Heather that their laptop is done? I'll have to think on this one...I could also do some sort of witty tag on Facebook for them...
