Blue...
So that case I had ordered for my new BlackBerry Torch (featured in my last post) was listed as "sapphire blue" and the picture also looked "blue"...when I received it it was far from "sapphire blue"...maybe more like steel blue if held up to the bright light. I was not a happy camper, so I broke down and ordered a premium case through Amazon and there's no doubt...it is BLUE!
Since this case is actually "blue" ("sky blue" actually)...the other case will be sent back to BlackBerry for a refund.
Other than the issue with the color description on the case for my BlackBerry, it has been pretty quiet around my place. This week I finished reading Heart of Iron: My Journey From Transplant Patient To Ironman Triathlete by Kyle Garlett. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who has been affected by cancer, know someone who has had a transplant or anyone who thinks they are having a bad run of luck. Kyle went through a lot of pain and suffering in just a few short years because of Hodgkin's Disease (lymphoma). After reading this book, it makes even your worst days really not seem all that bad.
Another set of projects that I have been working on this last week is some computer repairs...or in this week's case...laptop repairs. One laptop had an issue with the power adapter port, one had a broken display and a keyboard to replace, one has a broken cable going up to the display and one is having some issues with booting. I don't think I've had two laptops at the same time that needed invasive "surgery", but to have three of them is ridiculous! All three required tearing into the laptop and removing a lot of screws and then trying to keep those little screws all organized. Luckily the parts for the laptops came in at different times, so they weren't all taken apart at the same time. I'm still waiting on the part for the 3rd laptop with the broken cable...
I haven't had the blinds open in my living room for awhile, so this morning I kept hearing a noise and decided to take a peek out and see what it was. Upon looking outside, I made the discovery that they are tearing out the old, broken-down wood fence behind the apartment building. In most cases this would be okay because the fence looked like crap, but in this case I'm losing some of the extra details in photos taken to the west. That old fence added a little something extra that won't be there anymore. This is the fence I was referring to...

(It's not the easiest to see in this picture, but I didn't have the picture available that I wanted to post.)
Depending on how many more trees that they take out of that old fence row, they might clear out the peony bush that's back there too. Upon further investigation, I see that they're building a chain-link fence in the neighbor's yard...it's amazing what you find when you are able to take time to look around! My back yard is changing and I didn't even know it!
