Skype-ing...
This evening I put on one of my many "hats"...I was Mr. Webcam & Skype Installer. I installed Skype and a Logitech webcam for someone so they could chat with our friend Kelly, who is out in North Carolina awaiting a double-lung transplant. Once I got it setup we had to "test" it so we Skype-d with Kelly to make sure it was working okay. I talked to her for quite awhile. She did tell me that the Ear, Nose & Throat Doctor told her NO SINUS SURGERY! Kelly was excited about this. He told her that for the pain she would have to go through, it wouldn't be beneficial enough for her. This also means she won't have that to heal from before she gets put onto "the list", and she may be placed on the list while she does her blood filtration.
I hadn't talked to Kelly since last Monday night, other than just text messages back and forth, so it was great to see her and talk to her! I think most of everyone I've talked to it ready to pack up and see her...and I think quite a few people might be planning their vacations around being able to make a stop to see Kelly. She hasn't been gone a week yet, but it seems like she's been gone for a month. I guess when you know you can't make a simple two hour trip to visit her in the hospital, it stretches time out!
I think tomorrow night is going to be a stay-at-home night for me. I have all the supplies to make Swiss Steak...and I'm thinking that sounds just pretty freakin' good! I'm ready for this whole cold, dreary winter scene to GO AWAY...I'm tired of fixing warm, filling meals! I'm ready for warmer weather, so the salads and sandwiches are more appealing...and then the urge to barbecue hits...HMMMM...
